originally from Chicago but putting roots down in LA. previously focused on leading social strategy for Meta Quest and new business opportunities as an associate strategy director (gaming + tech) at hi5.agency.

currently searching for new opportunities within social strategy, brand strategy, and client development with a focus in gaming, entertainment, tech, or comics (love an audience fandom moment -- ask me about the #SilkSquad & Lights Army).

been in the game for 12 years leveraging my genuine fandom & creative curiosity to gain XP in gaming, comics, social, experiential, entertainment, tech, hospitality, web dev, and digital marketing. i've worn a lot of hats to get to where i am and love expanding my skill tree but strategy is what i love to do.

outside of work you can find me at the ceramics studio on the wheel, gallivanting outside with my husband, playing video games, reading comics, thrifting tchotchkes, photo journaling, and looking for any excuse to go get a dairy-free sweet treat.

Starting in 2023, we partnered with Meta to launch the Meta Quest 3 (and later the 3S in 2024), a mixed reality headset that makes people say "WOW" whenever they put one on.

Along with evergreen assets and calendar management, we work with Creators from different verticals to hype the experiences, launch AAA VR titles (Asgard's Wrath 2, Batman: Arkham Shadow), and cover live events (SXSW, NBA All-Star Weekend, Gamescom, TwitchCon, etc.).

Every step of the way we've worked closely with Creators, developers, XFN, and IMM client teams.

MY ROLE
For every device & title launch, campaign, on the ground experience, and even a simple evergreen post, I run the strategy. Working closely with our production, creative, and social teams to make sure we're always laddering back to the larger story.

With the launch of the Meta Quest 3, Meta wanted to show off how the device can Expand Your World. We developed an editorial docu-style piece, partnering with mixed media & virtual reality artist Gabe Gault for an original content shoot - hyping the Meta Quest 3 and the world it opens.

From Meta's Connect to Gault's home & studio, we showcased how seamlessly the Meta Quest 3 allows Virtual Explorers to live without boundaries and push creative possibilities.

MY ROLE
Shaped the overarching approach & strategy for the content series that kicked off with Gabe. Leveraged Meta Connect to tie the device launch ethos with a Creator pushing the boundaries of his space.

A legacy title with most of its users a little older and more mature, where do you find younger, Gen Z audiences for the next-gen releases for Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal? You find them in the depths of Hell(Tok).

The launch of Diablo TikTok created a cult following of Hell worshippers who love chaos and grim humor while still finding older, seasoned players who resonated with a reheated love of IYKYK gamer insights. TikTok was our "Secret Level" - alongside the cows, it doesn't really exist in the same sphere of the other social channels. TikTok was about chaos.

MY ROLE
I made sure the chaos was the right balance of cursed & doomed coming from the charismatic Overlord. Kept an eye on cultural conversations & opportunities to put a cursed spin on things. I literally cooked Duolingo on Diablo TikTok back in 2023 before taking out the bird was cool.

Teamfight Tactics & Legends of Runeterra are two strategy games with extremely passionate communities. Creating content for players & engaging with them successfully means knowing each game inside out, staying on top of ever-changing metas, and understanding in-jokes about their massive roster of heroes.

Working with talent like Steve Aoki to launch a new expansion, creating illustrations for characters, or cracking jokes with the community was easy because the full team was just as passionate as the players.

Led strategy for the Legends of Runeterra RFP, developing a strategic approach & playbook to reaching superfans with unique opportunities on social.

Google Pixel was looking for a partner to create a space to celebrate cultural moments and fandoms, through the lens of their phones.

We worked with Google to launch Google Pixel's US social channels, a new home for #TeamPixel to explore their passions, gain access to their favorite stars and creators, and connect with their communities.

Tapped trending formats and started conversations for cultural moments like Hispanic Heritage Month, Transgender Awareness Week, music festivals, and more.

MY ROLE
Assisted the Head of Strategy through the RFP process and later was Strategy lead on the Google Pixel accounts. Worked closely with other vertical leads to bring Pixel into the right conversations while also getting on the ground for event content capture at When We Were Young and Austin City Limits.

My bio on everything is basically, "Ashley, Founder of the #SilkSquad."

Long story short, I took my fandom and love for Marvel Comic's Silk / Cindy Moon character and turned it into one of the best things that has ever happened to me - forming the Silk Squad, the official fandom for Silk (so official we've been printed in Marvel Comics a few times now).

Lifelong friendships with Silk's creative team across several arcs, with cosplayers who show up as our girl, with folks I met on Twitter in it's glory days just chatting over the new issues, and of course - meeting one of my best friends, Tana Ford.

Forever lucky that Tana let me "bully" her into being friends on the Internet and the invited me to travel comic cons with her promoting her work, brand, co-moderating panels on representation in the Spider-Verse, and so much more.

I can talk about this for hours.

COMPANY: Social Entertainment Ventures

The AceBounce concept has been widely regarded by the industry as a game-changer in social entertainment venues, combining three elements of hospitality: bar, restaurant and entertainment activity - all set against stunning design and the highest standard of finishes. AceBounce is an immense ping pong playground with award winning chefs and mixologists, creating an unprecedented party experience.

Flight Club is the home of the Social Darts phenomenon and a multi-award-winning venue. A British import, which has revolutionized the traditional game of darts. To the uninitiated, Flight Club offers a super-charged social gaming experience like no other.

Flight Club Chicago was the first US location (May 2018) and was followed by Flight Club Boston (December 2019).

MY ROLE
As Senior Digital Marketing Manager, USA, I developed and executed all digital, content, and social strategies in the rebranding of the US brand, AceBounce and for the successful US launch & expansion of Flight Club Darts from the UK.

Figo, a standout in the pet insurance market, needed a better way to tell stories around their fantastic policy, 24/7 tech, and stacked roster of industry vets. Our rebrand led Figo into the next chapter of growth by tapping into its purpose and elevating the voice and visual identity beyond clichéd pet puns and stocky photos.

Following an immersive research phase, our team repositioned Figo as insurance with soul, designed for and by pet people. Our suite of lifestyle photography and custom illustrations transformed Figo into a trusted companion. The rebrand feels premium and boutique, priming Figo to reach Millennial and Gen Z pet owners.

MY ROLE
As Creative Strategist, led the the market research, brand architecture, brand framework, & guided workshops with key client executives - working close with the senior copywriter and creative team to bring the rebrand from playbook to digital life.

You know that first real brand you work on in your career where you develop a lifetime loyalty to - Basil Hayden's Bourbon is mine. Always stocked and ready to cheers in the highs and lows of life.

Walton Isaacson was the ad agency leading OOH, Print, Digital, and Social launches for Basil Hayden's Bourbon.

MY ROLE
As Assistant Account Executive and Community Manager, I worked closely with the Account Director to meet client expectations while managing the launch of the brand's Instagram and Twitter accounts. Joining forces with the creative team, I took on food styling & photography for social content. I managed the Basil Hayden's influencer program, Whiskey Among Other Things with Max Wastler.
